What you're seeing is natural wane in the wood, and it's nothing to be concerned about in terms of structure or durability. These markings are a normal part of working with natural cedar.
They are typically found on the inside or bottom of the planters, so they’re not visible once filled with soil. We intentionally place the less visually perfect pieces of wood in those internal areas to help us reduce material waste and keep our products as sustainable as possible.
These natural features do not affect the performance of your planter in any way — they simply reflect the authenticity of the material and our commitment to responsible craftsmanship.
